We’re continuing with our teaching series that’s entitled “The Call Of God.” This is lesson three and it’s called “The Ministry Of The Apostle.” Our lesson addresses the biblical role, qualifications, and characteristics of an apostle, defining the position as a distinct calling from the Holy Spirit to serve as a messenger, church planter, and foundational leader who establishes order and equips the Body of Christ. Authentic apostles carry out their ministry with humility, spiritual authority, and spiritual gifts, operating strictly within their designated domain to build up leaders and correct error through sound doctrine and example rather than seeking self-glory. They must meet the general qualifications of an elder—demonstrating moral integrity, wisdom, and a servant's heart—while their divine calling is validated by signs, wonders, and the confirmation of fellow believers. In contrast to genuine apostles, false apostles are deceitful and self-promoting workers who operate without Holy Spirit power or proper boundaries, often seeking financial gain or personal influence; thus, believers are instructed to test all teachers against the Bible as the ultimate standard of truth.
