We’re a continuing with our study that’s called “Ethics And Excellence In Life Series.” This is Lesson Five and it’s called “Sermon On The Mount Ethics Part 3.” In our study on Christian Ethics, we draw from the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus outlines the essential attitudes of the Christian life across personal devotion, daily anxieties, and interpersonal relationships. It emphasizes that giving, prayer, and fasting should be practiced sincerely and in secret before God rather than as performance-driven acts of self-worship or empty repetition. To overcome materialism and devastating anxiety, believers are urged to reject worldly treasures and status, trusting instead in God's faithful provision by seeking His kingdom first. Finally, the text warns against hyper-critical, destructive judgments of others, noting that condemning people often reveals one's own hidden faults; instead, Christians are called to cultivate guileless yet discerning relationships rooted in compassion, objective love, and an awareness that God alone truly judges the human heart.
