Today, we’re completing our sermon series called “One Another. This is Message Four and it’s entitled “Confess and Pray For One Another.” As the final message in the One Another series, our teaching examines James 5:13–20 to emphasize that God never intended Christians to carry sin, suffering, sickness, or weakness in isolation. Instead of hiding behind an "I'm fine" facade, believers are called to bring their whole lives into God’s presence—offering prayer in hardship, praise in joy, and seeking spiritual care from church leaders when sick. True spiritual and emotional healing thrives in a community where believers step into the light by confessing struggles to trusted, mature Christians who respond with grace rather than gossip, while relying on the ultimate forgiveness found only in God. Because ordinary believers pray to an extraordinary God—just as Elijah did—their sincere, active intercession carries great power, especially when pursuing and restoring those who have wandered from the truth. Ultimately, moving beyond shallow gatherings requires taking concrete steps toward radical honesty, deliberate service, and active, faith-filled prayer with one another.
